All employees are engaged to some degree, and engagement manifests itself in different ways.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My article here spells out four distinct types of engagement, all of which are appropriate in different settings:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;http://www.davidzinger.com/employee-engagement-rifle-mat-gearshift-ring-mike-klein-5614/&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2.  A huge problem with employee engagement activity as it has been practiced prior to the Great Recession is that it&amp;#39;s been a one-way bet: organizations seeking to create workplaces and settings that generate $1.XX of productivity for each $1.00 of input.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There is nothing intrinsically wrong with this.  Making money is what corporations exist to do.  But this approach has made a one-size-fits-all push for lopsided emotional commitment from employees unsustainable when the organization begins changing its commitments and
